Was joking with her about going to the wrong station and ended up going to the wrong station. Luckily I checked the ticket and there was still time to get there. East Perth not Perth. So after a highly uneventful eight hour bus trip I arrived in Walpole. Last time I made the journey south a rather scraggy seabird of a woman got on the bus… drunk on vodka. She was loud, too loud and although my friend and I attempted to calm her, she was ejected into the waiting arms of the police. I remember the incident notably for how ghastly the other passengers were to this poor drunk woman. Sure she was disruptive and delayed the journey but I recall one particular fellow baying for her blood in the most vulgar terms. How brutish and cold we have become. She wasn't exactly a posterchild for mental health.
Having arrived in Walpole I stepped off the bus and almost immediately encountered a walk trail to a place called Coalmine Beach. Rather than spend a night in the town I hiked the mere 1.5 km to the beach. I encountered a brazilian flies! Fortunately I packed my fly mesh. I also found one of these:
A Dugite I think. Venomous? You betcha. Anyways, its beautiful here and I've found a little bench with a view of the ocean. I think I'll bed down here. It's a cloudless sky so should get quite a light show tonight.
Day 2: So our esteemed premier is at it again with the tough guy rhetoric, telling us that the unvaxxed will not be allowed to do anything come February 5. This is the day Western Australia opens its border to the east because that is the day. No reason. They're not letting us go anywhere except the shopping centre and to work I guess? This has zero impact on me. I don't go anywhere but the grocer. The only thing that will be of difficulty is if he chooses to cut us off unemployment benefits. Then I will go begging. I'm most keen on remaining in the control group.
Day 2 camp most pleasant. It was 30°C today. Too hot for walking. So laid about in the hammock.
Think I’ll head into town tomorrow and check out the supplies situation. I need some plastic bags. The ones I bought are rubbish… they are rubbish bags. 🤣 Sorry. Until the next post. Hold the line me Droogies!
Please enjoy my music:
I love it
Great to see you successfully holding out.
Life must be very difficult, but your environment looks pretty good and at least you haven't been slow poisoned.
