Are you really having blue skies in Perth? Where I am in rural Vic, it’s day after day of chemtrails! I realise I’m a lot further south than you but blue skies! I wish!
Cheers to dropping out. But I had to get sick, many years ago to drop out!
I've described it this way: the only thing that young individuals of both the Left and Right have in common is they both want a way "out" of society. The goal of hustle-bros? Get enough money that you can buy your way out. The goal of trans-humanists? Build an AI or enough cyber-infrastructure that now you can get "out." It feels like the whole of western society has become a prison and the only thing that people have in common is a desire to get out of it. It feels like every one is waiting for a warden to open the door and let you out to the real world... but there isn't a real world, and detainment is for life.
That's why we're seeing the growth of Idpol: prison gangs. That's why we're seeing people hammering at the walls of their cells or going crazy and killing other inmates.
Every one wants out, and no one has a clear view of how to get out at this point. I know what I want, I want 50 acres and 4 to 10 families to split it between. I want a machine shop to work on my own projects and tools out there, and I want tangential access to the global economy. I think that the first step in getting "out" is to develop a clear understanding of what "out" looks like. Then take actions in that direction.
Yeah I’m not sure either of those tactics is a way out. Real escape would be a change in our relationship to the natural world - and that seems to be a common theme - people long to return to the earth, to pulse with the cycles of nature. I like your escape plan. It sounds grand!
I’m writing dissident rap because I guess I got out early. I realised the fix was in with Bankers. They would flood the world with money and everyone would be in debt. So as a gigging musician I saved 12k in dishwashing money, asked my girlfriend to take the biggest loan the bank would give her ($70k) and we bought an abandoned mine of 10 acres in Castelmaine in 2005. Then built a feral strawbale house and worked like an insane person in a pay as you go mode and in 5 years git the job done. Everything is junk or second hand but we owe 25k and pay $68 per week on the loan.
If I was younger now, I’d sink all my energy into a slick mobile set up with towable tiny house/caravan and then try to build relationships with permaculture dudes and work share for food and rent. Who knows some set ups can go the distance.
Dropping out is good too I’m just not lazy enough to handle it. I GOTTA DO SOMETHING
Ahh you're smarter than I. I got nothing to show for my 50 years but I don't mind. It's my two feet and a backpack. You're very talented! Castlemaine is pretty.
Although we can't stop participating in a lot of things, there are certainly a lot of things we could just start opting out of. Unfortunately, people have allowed many unnecessary rituals to become like a religion to them and believe in these rituals so thoroughly they can't pull themselves away from them. Here in the U.S. presidential (s)elections comes to mind, along with the broken "health" system, pharmaceuticals are going to save us, and fast food. If Americans would just stop going along with those 4 things...
Realize that the only "good" jobs are mostly enforcing human misery through some form of tax, track and tag of the human cattle. Then the reward you will get for this work is for your taxes to be used to drop bombs and poison other people even more. The entire endeavor has become a soul less, antihuman farce. Who in good conscience would want to do this?
Yeah well that's just it. The whole human project has gone off the rails. The jobs that make a liveable wage are generally evil. If you want to grow stuff or help people you'll barely get by. But that's irrelevant to most. As my mum says: "that's just the way it is."
what's your "plan" for old age ? i guess you get free medical care ( ? ) I worked on and off, always self employed , and things worked out ok . But, old age came and whoaaa ! As much as one thinks it might be nice to "have nothing to do" .....
oh well, all will deal with it at some point .
Note : I think the "individual" .... or the HERETIC... definition: 1. someone who has an opinion that is opposite to or against the official or popular opinion : I think they are getting squeezed and headed for extinction . As i got older, and less and less could relate to the "normal" specimens of today....... well, it does get a bit lonely
I am retired I guess you could say. I don't really have a plan. I'm banking on a mysterious benefactor to bequeath me a vast estate on rolling lush pasture. Failing that I've been eying off this overpass... Not entirely sure. I'm on the wait list for public housing and yeah at least we have free medical... for now. It's a cruel world that doesn't care, doesn't give a shit... Like the Honey Badger. https://youtu.be/4r7wHMg5Yjg?feature=shared
Free medical is great for broken bones or if you need emergency care . Other than that I think you have to be very careful what you let them do to you .
i used to think ahead to the Beatles " will you still need me, will you still feed me ....... when i'm 64 ." Now i looK BACK at that age ! holy shit . I'm just like the WHO ..... forgetting about that "hope i die before i get old" thing . hmmmm
Really should be calling on Spock to "beam me up , dammit " .
But ........ gotta wait till after the fireworks in US in November ..... not that i ever thought anything will change. But the last 20 years , man... the script is really racing ahead .
I know it’s like they are doing freedom cosplay. If they think it hard enough it’s true. When you see the place from outside it’s scary level compliance.

You gotta a sharp mind and beautiful soul. It’s more than enough

Now i'm sitting here , waitin for pappy to post my bail
Cause though we had great fun , playing on all fours
We always think that love will last ... of course
I swore to be your honey forever
but sure enough , i was surprised
when you turned out to be a honey badger
Honey Badger is nasty. Lol.
That clip is hilarious!

Predictions? I don't think either side is going to accept the result of this election.
The "system" is soooooo entrenched that it is difficult to imagine how it can somehow be upset .
Write your own ending to the story . One shows a little "hope" , the other you had better have your underpass picked out
I too have been enjoying these sunny and warm Perth days after all those winter rains.
Lucky us in the antipodes Antipodes. Sometimes even Melbourne seems good 😬
You are joking! I was born and bred in Melbourne, I hate the place now!
I'm with you - note I said "sometimes even"
Yep, no worries! Question-do you see lots of chemtrails where you are, or anywhere around Melbourne?
No, and yes I do look out for them. Maybe they figure their "net zero" plan is going well enough without them.
Ok, thanks, interesting.
Most groovy communist city in China
Indeed TG. And the coffee isn't as good as they say either.

T.G. Do you see chemtrails at Castlemaine? I guess you mean Castlemaine in Vic-not sure if there’s another in Australia.
Rarely but yes.
Bolshevik playbook updated to 2024. Same actors behind the scenes and same useful idiots bringing it all to fruition. And, of course, the po-lice
